Common questions about Physicks. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, contact our support team.
What is Physicks?
Physicks is a WordPress plugin that lets you create interactive visual compositions powered by real-time physics. You design scenes with shapes, images, and text in a drag-and-drop editor, configure how they behave with gravity, collisions, drag, and cursor interaction, and embed them anywhere on your site with a shortcode or Gutenberg block.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Physicks is designed for visual creators. Everything is configured through the editor with sliders, color pickers, and toggles. You don’t need to write a single line of JavaScript or CSS to create complex interactive scenes.
Will Physicks slow down my site?
Physicks is built to be lightweight. The physics engine only loads on pages where a composition is actually embedded — never globally. The Plugin uses Matter.js, a battle-tested 2D physics library used by major websites, and the rendering relies on standard CSS transforms, so performance stays smooth even on mobile devices.
Compatibility
Which WordPress versions are supported?
Physicks is tested up to WordPress 7.0 and works with WordPress 5.8 and later.
Does it work with my theme?
Yes. Physicks works with any standard WordPress theme. We’ve tested it with popular themes including Astra, Kadence, GeneratePress, Salient, and the WordPress default themes (Twenty Twenty-Three, Twenty Twenty-Four).
Does it work with page builders like Elementor or WPBakery?
Yes. You can embed compositions in any page builder using the shortcode , or directly with the Gutenberg block in the WordPress editor.
Is it compatible with caching plugins?
Yes. Physicks works alongside WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache, WP Rocket, and other major caching plugins. There is also a built-in cache compatibility mode that adds version strings to plugin assets to ensure updates are picked up correctly.
Does it work on mobile devices?
Yes. Physicks supports touch interactions on mobile devices, and you can design completely separate layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile breakpoints, each with its own canvas size and object positions.
Editor and features
How many compositions can I create?
You can create unlimited compositions on any plan, including the Free version.
Can I import compositions from one site to another?
Yes. You can export your entire composition library as a JSON file from the plugin settings, or copy individual compositions using the Raw JSON view in the editor. Then you import the JSON on the destination site.
Can I upload my own SVGs as shapes?
Yes. The Free version allows you to upload SVG files to the WordPress media library and use them as background images for any object. To use a custom SVG as an object’s shape type (Custom SVG shape), Physicks Pro is required.
Can I use custom fonts?
Yes. Just type the name of any Google Font in the font field of a Text object, and Physicks will automatically load that font on the frontend.
What's the difference between the Free shapes and the Pro shapes?
The Free version includes 8 standard shapes: Square, Circle, Triangle, Hexagon, Pentagon, Rhombus, Trapezoid, and Parallelogram. Physicks Pro adds 15 additional shapes (Bevel, Rabbet, Chevron, Chat bubble, Star, Triple Oval, Heart, Badge, Ellipses, Bowtie, Lightning, Sparkle) plus Image, Text, and Custom SVG object types — for a total of 23 shape types.
Licensing
How does the license work?
Each Pro license is valid for 1 site (one WordPress installation on a single domain or subdomain). The Business license covers up to 5 sites. You can deactivate a license on one site and activate it on another at any time.
What happens when my license expires?
The Plugin continues to work, but you stop receiving updates and premium support. Pro features remain functional until a major update may require an active license. We recommend renewing to keep your compositions secure and compatible with future WordPress versions.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. You can cancel anytime from the customer portal of our payment provider, accessible from your purchase confirmation email. Cancelling stops future renewals but doesn’t refund the current period unless you request a refund within 30 days.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans, no questions asked. See our Refund Policy for full details.
Privacy and data
What data does the Plugin collect from my site visitors?
The Plugin does not collect any personal data from your site visitors. It does not set cookies, use localStorage, or send tracking data to any external server. The only outbound request happens if you’ve enabled Google Fonts in a Text object — in that case, the visitor’s browser fetches the font directly from Google’s servers, subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
Where are my compositions stored?
All your compositions are stored locally in your own WordPress database, in the standard wp_postmeta table. Nothing is sent to our servers. Your designs belong entirely to you.
Can I use Physicks on a GDPR-compliant site?
Yes. Because the Plugin doesn’t collect visitor data and doesn’t set cookies, it doesn’t add any GDPR obligations to your site. If you enable Google Fonts, you should mention it in your own Privacy Policy.
